Hi Friends, I was really lucky to be invited to the Australian launch of the L'Oreal X Balmain lipstick collection a few weeks back. This collection has been extremely successful overseas and is selling out as fast as they can stock them!
So here they are, all in glory. THE L'OREAL X BALMAIN LIPSTICKS!! (*me screaming with joy).
But first, a little about the backstory to this collection.
L'Oreal is the Official Sponsor for Paris Fashion Week and who else would they have chosen for this collaboration but the hottest fashion designer at the moment but Olivier Rousteing, the head designer for French Fashion House Balmain,

Overall performance and Swatches
The lipsticks have that nice L'Oreal lipstick texture and also scent. They do not have much of a taste to them which is great.
They are extremely pigmented. I would recommend just applying one coat with a lip brush and setting it with a translucent powder.
As this is a collaboration with Balmain's head designer Olivier Rousteing (man who has made Balmain cool again), the shades are unusual and "high octane". Some are wearable for the day/office. The collection of 12 limited edition lipsticks is divided into 3 groups and reflect the history and current style of the House of Balmain
The Rock Collection (blue marble) are matte and "meant to transform the signature edge of Balmain into Matte Lipsticks.
The Couture Collection (black) are satin shades which "celebrate the couture origins of Balmain".
The Safari Collection (green marble) "awakens a fierceness in all women".

This are satin-like shades. The nudes are wearable for day/office and the red too (you can dab it on your lips for a more sheer coverage.

I REALLY LOVE "Balmain Instinct" , on me, it just complements my olive skin tone. It also is speckled with micro gold glitter.
These are what you might describe as "metallics"; but I think that these have much more, due to the micro gold glitter.
"Balmain Instinct" is Balmain's current signature colour.

Disclaimer: I was very sick with the flu when I did these photographs, Very sorry about that. So my lips were very dry to begin with. I also did not use a lip pencil (could not find one handy at the time I did these). These lipsticks look much better in real life :)

The Launch Event | 约会的照片。
The event was held on May 10th, 2018 at Bar Machiavelli. We were treated to the most delicious hors-d'œuvres and there were specially-created cocktails. Each guest left with a small gift bag containing one lipstick from each of the three groups. I had so much fun that night!
