My Thoughts on OUAI North Bondi

The Bottle: Totally minimalistic cool. A circular design in heavy feeling glass with a white cap that is magnetic (snaps back together with the bottle). The magnetic connection is very strong. Strong enough, that you can safely hold the bottle just by its cap (I did shake it rather vigorously holding it by the cap just to test it for fun) The white plate on the bottle itself makes for an attractive design. The eau de parfum liquid is clear. It comes in a white circle box.

The Scent: It did come across strongly of bergamot and lemon rind . It then developed with some florals, a taste of rose and white musk. Next, like just on the tip of your tongue come dark juicy berries.

The Dry Down: Once dried down, it does have a more pronounced sweetness to it and you start to get woody notes from the patchouli and sandalwood. There is a bit of a "powdery-ness" from it like a bit of baby powder. The bergamot and lemon rind notes still come across, almost like cushioning the fragrance.

The Tastes: It gave a cotton candy type taste and feel in my mouth. Obviously, I'm not eating/drinking fragrances, it is a perception of it in my mouth from smelling it with my nose! It reminded me a lot of home made lemon masrhmallow that my local French bakery makes. Light fluffy sweet lemom-ny. The White Musk and Wood notes didn't come across in the "taste" factor.

The Colours: With this, I saw an odd mix of visuals in my mind. Obviously beach tones, dawn/dusk colours and most surprisingly to me: granite. In terms of the granite, more that streets of Bondi Beach suburb.

The Feelings: Definitely beachy vibes. Definitely that Bondi Beach feel. Straight away, I felt like I was walking around the shopping area of Bondi Beach. It did not make me feel like I was right on Bondi Beach walking in the sea but more that I was close to the beach walking in the area. It is a relaxing and calming scent. You get the sense of being at a beach side location, breeze in your hair, salt in the air, and hearing the waves as it hits the sand. For me, this was instantly calming and I felt transported.

The Wear Time: Approximately 6-8 hours on the usual pulse points (behind the ear, neck, wrists). However, I do like to apply my perfumes and colognes to my Heart Chakra (not quite on the heart but between my breasts). My husband commented that I smelt "like a baby". That was a great sign off to me.

Suggested occasions to wear this: Day to Night time scent. Great for hanging out with friends and for a date. This is a very unobtrusive scent that doesn't overwhelm. Quite calming and relaxing. I see myself wearing it, going shopping with the girls or having a coffee catch up.

Ingredients list: It is not often that I include an ingredients list for a fragrance but I was quite delighted to see that the ingredients list for OUAI North Bondi is quite short!

Alcohol Denat., Parfum (Fragrance), Aqua (Water, Eau), Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Linalool, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Cinnamyl Alcohol, Limonene, Geraniol, Citral, Hydroxycitronellal, Citronellol, Ci 42090 (Blue 1), Ci 15985 (Yellow 6), Ci 60730 (Violet 2)

Overall: The cool design of the bottle makes it collectible. I think it is a good every day fragrance. Its "easy-going" and relaxing. I think this would appeal to a wide range of people. Plus if it makes you smell as good as a baby, what's not to like? Price point is very reasonable. Makes a good addition to your collection for an all-rounder fragrance.
