Buckley and Phillips Ultrasonic Oil Diffuser Review

Hello all, today, I'm sharing my thoughts on the Buckley and Phillips Ultrasonic Oil Diffuser. I received it a few weeks ago and haven't stopped using it yet. The one I was sent is the Buckley and Phillips Black Stone Ultrasonic Oil Diffuser.

Buckley and Phillips Ultrasonic Oil Diffuser Review

About Buckley and Philips

"Directors Christopher Phillips and Maureen Buckley began the company as a small venture in 1972 selling handmade candles at local markets, such as the renowned St Kilda Esplanade Market in Melbourne. Then trading under the name 'The Gumleaf Candle Company', later to be known as 'Gumleaf Aromatics'.

Since these humble beginnings, Buckley & Phillips Aromatics has grown substantially now incorporating a wide range of aromatic products and essential oils. Over the years more family members and field professionals have joined our team, sharing the same passion for aromatherapy and fine fragrance. To meet various customer needs, our head office located in Victoria's Yarra Valley has the capability for large-scale production for Australian and worldwide distribution, including contract manufacturing for fellow companies."

The ultrasonic technology uses silent ultrasonic vibrations to break apart essential oils and water, sending them into the air in a cool mist. The oils are rapidly evaporated through the tiny vibrations and sent into the air for maximum benefits. So this technology dispenses microscopic particles of oils into the air via vibrations of the plate which causes ultrasonic waves.

I was really impressed by HOW QUIET this diffuser is! I had to check that it was on by waiting for the "smoke" to come out. It is so quiet that I often fall asleep to it. This was the standout quality for me.

So there are two buttons at the bottom. One for light (two settings, you can see them in action below); and one for "mist" which lets you set it for either a continuous mode of 3 hrs or intermittent mode for 7hrs. I use the 7hrs mode at night as I use this as a humidifier. The medication I am on for my depression and anxiety causes me to have really bad dry mouth and nose. So the humidifier function has been a saviour. As I suffer from asthma, I do not use essential oils at night. Unfortunately, when I do use it with essential oils, it has triggered asthma attacks. So just a safety tip if you are an asthma sufferer.

During the day, when I use the essential oils, I do not get any issues with my asthma,

It comes with a few accessories, namely the bottle that you use to fill it with water.

The black stone finish makes it very chic. It is lovely to touch.

It is incredibly easy to use. Idiot-proof. Just lift off the black stone over, the "funnel" top and fill with water. There is an indicator line inside that indicates how much you have to fill it with water. I do get a bit bougi and use mineral water for this, as I think it has less chemicals. I am after all inhaling the fumes from this.

Now, with the essential oils, you only need 3-4 drops. This is enough for it work all day and night. Buckley and Philips has the largest range of essential oils that I have ever seen.

There are 70 single note 100% natural oils and 30 unique blends of 100% natural oils. Check out the range here (click for the range ). I was also sent an Aromatherapy Essential Oil Guide that is packed with so much useful information, like properties of each oil, how to use them as a massage oil/skincare, and how to create your own blends. I ighly recommend that you pick up this guide.

I was gifted two blends:

  • "Resilience": Resilience is a blend of oils which are reputed to help overcome fear, deal with fatigue, and maintain inner strength during lifes difficult challenges.

With Essential Oils of:

  • Bitter Orange (Citrus aurantium)

  • Neroli (Citrus aurantium var. amara)

  • Petitgrain (Citrus aurantium)

  • Mandarin (Citrus reticulata)

  • Rose Geranium (Pelargonium graveolens)

  • Peru Balsam (Myroxylon balsamum pereirae)

  • Vetiver (Vetiveria zizanioides)

Resilience has been very beneficial for me. As a long time sufferer of depression and anxiety. This has helped calm me down and motivate me to do more each day. Before, I would often just wake up to take my medicine and go back into bed. I like to use this during the morning, to motivate me to be more active.,

  • "Revitalise": Revitalize is an uplifting blend which may help to stimulate the senses and increase mental clarity and alertness.

With Essential Oils of:

  • Peppermint (Mentha x piperita)

  • Lemon (Citrus limonum)

  • Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis)

I use this pretty much everyday. We have lots of pets and do a fair bit of cooking, so having this on dispels all of the icky scents. During the day, it is in my living room. I then move it upstairs to our bedroom at night to help humidify the room.

With the light turned on - Buckley and Phillips Ultrasonic Oil Diffuser

I love the design. It fits most interior decors.

At night - Buckley and Phillips Ultrasonic Oil Diffuser

The magic happens when you turn on the lights of the diffuser in a dim room. I could stare at the "smoke" coming out. So mesmerising. AND AGAIN SO incredible quiet!!

So pretty - Buckley and Phillips Ultrasonic Oil Diffuser

Look at how pretty this is!! Mesmerising isn't it/

A night lamp - Buckley and Phillips Ultrasonic Oil Diffuser

This is what it looks like at night. There are two settings to the light, dim and brighter. Here above, you see the brighter light. I find that it helps lull me to sleep.

As mentioned above, I use it as a humidifier at night (sans oils), and I wake up feeling better. Mouth and nose dryness is less and I feel my skin is not so dry. My husband really enjoys it too.
