Hello all, in this article, I will be reviewing three products from Mukti Organics. A certified Organic skincare brand that uses a lot of Native Australian Extracts. Australian skincare brands that use extracts from Native Australian plants have become quite popular these days. Even non-Australian brands have grown to use Native Australian extracts like Kakadu Plum in their ingredients.
I was sent this trio of skincare products by PR. The products picked suit my sensitive acne prone combination skin. I tested these three products over a period a few months.
The three products that I am reviewing here are all from Mukti's Combination/Oily range:
There are other products within the range likes face masks and tinted moisturisers (click here to see more). The price range is reasonable for the quality and quantity of product you receive. RRP in AUD range from AUD115-AUD65.

Review of Mukti Balancing Cleansing Gel 200ml
This gentle foaming gel targets combination/oily skin and is also gentle enough to use for normal skin. The gel texture is light and it does foam up quite nicely with water. I usually take about 3 pumps if I am wearing makeup (the extra is to remove makeup), and only 1 pump when I don't have any makeup on.
Muki does have dedicated products for makeup remover (click here to see them) which I do want to try soon.
As a makeup remover, it works well with any cleansing cloth/pad/device. If I'm just washing my face, hands do the trick easily - no need for the fancy stuff. It rinses off easily. I have used it with both warm and cold water and I felt there was little difference. I had this with me on a recent camping trip and used it with cold water. I felt so refreshed after using it.
The scent is dreamy. Very soothing. It is citrusy and fresh. Calming from the chamomile and aloe vera ingredients.
The cleanser is meant to help balance out your skin. Less oily "oily parts" and less dry "dry parts".
I do enjoy this cleanser and would definitely purchase it when this bottle runs out. My complexion was more balanced, felt softer and more hydrated plus, I got fewer acne. It also helped calm the chronic cystic acne around my jaw that I have suffered from for years (side affect from taking Lithium), It soothes that area and I don't get itchy flareups which sometimes happens over the course of a day.

Review of Orange Blossom Balancing Mist 100ml
I adore mists. I am lazy and I hate wasting cotton pads. So if a toner or lotion comes as mist, I'm easily won over.
I treat the Orange Blossom Balancing Mist as both a toner and a refresher (I mist myself with it to feel good). The nozzle is very fine - this is always a sticking point for me. I only like mists that have fine nozzles. If it squirts, it is not a mist. Orange Blossom Balancing Mist comes out as a heavenly mist of orange blossom holy water blessing. I kid you not.
It is suitable for Combination/Oily, Mature, Normal skin types.
One fact that was very interesting for me was that it does dry down fairly quickly as compared to other mists. I believe that this is because the ingredients are absorbed quickly into the skin as my skin feels plump after misting.
It is meant to prep your skin for moisturiser so that your moisturisers/oils absorption is amplified, It also helps with pore size (I did feel this was noticeable).
It does of course smell citrusy (from the ingredients used) and thus has an uplifting aromatherapy side benefit.
The Native Australian Botanicals are:
Kakadu Plum, believed to be the most concentrated natural source of vitamin C on earth. “Ounce per ounce, it contains on average 55 times the vitamin C of Florida oranges.” Kakadu plum brightens the complexion, reduces hyperpigmentation, and protects from harsh environmental aggressors, such as pollution. It also makes for a firmer, plumper face by “helping to form proline, an amino acid that makes collagen. It has above-average antiseptic properties, too, to help kill that pimple-causing bacteria. It also has two other acids. Gallic acid that naturally kills bacteria, which is great news for acne-prone skin; and ellagic acid, which reduces inflammation. (view source)
Finger Lime Caviar, Traditionally finger lime has been used by Aboriginal tribes in Australia for thousands of years as a nutritious food source and for medicinal purposes. Contains three times the vitamin C found in a mandarin and [a higher] antioxidant content than goji berries. Finger lime will help improve your skin's hydration and support collagen production, whilst also helping to heal and fight against acne, psoriasis, rosacea, and pigmentation. It also interrupts keratinisation (the barrier that holds dead skin cells together with a glue-like substance) to reduce oil build-up, acne, wrinkles, and uneven skin tone. (view source)
Aniseed Myrtle, rich in magnesium and is also a good source of lutein, folate, vitamin E, vitamin C and has been shown to have anti-fungal and anti-microbial properties. Studies conducted at Charles Stuart University in Australia found Anise Myrtle to be effective at fighting various types of harmful bacteria. (view source)
Native Pomegranate, delivers the natural molecules this botanical species can offer in a water- soluble format, including gallic and ellagic acid and phenolics. Both ellagic and gallic acid are recognized for their benefits to skin, notably in regulating signs of premature aging and reducing dryness. (view source)

Review of Mukti Balancing Moisturiser 50ml
This is a lightweight moisturiser that actually did balance out my combination skin. Don't you just love it when things do what they are supposed to do? I felt that it absorbed into my skin fairly quickly and it did not eave a tacky feeling. It left my skin feeling silky smooth. I don't think it was intended, but the colour of it did seem to brighten my face as well. So on it's own, it made my complexion silky smooth. It worked well on my acne scars and my chronic cystic acne. Those areas felt calmer and did not itchy as much. Overnight, I woke up feeling that it had smoothed out the cystic acne bumps as well.
This moisturiser is ideal for oily, blemished and acne prone complexions.
It has been formulated to not clog your pores and I'm certain that is the effect that it had on my skin. I did not get any more acne while using it and I believe it did reduce the number of spots I usually get.
The more days I used it on a continuous basis, the more I felt like my combination skin was being balanced out.
I used about two pumps and that was enough for my face and my neck. I also used it as an eye cream substitute and I saw some improvement in the hydration in the areas around my eyes.
It was good as a makeup base too. I felt that my foundations and other products blended a lot easier when I applied them using only this as a base. It kept my oily bits in check for a fair amount of time for me (about 3-4 hours). Which is pretty good as i usually have to use some kind of oil-control primer to get that effect.
At first sniff, I could tell there was calendula in it. It smells a bit like a combination of grass and herbs. A bit of lavender and a tiny bit of citrus.
As I felt that it did sooth and calm my cystic acne, I would probably purchase this as well when I run out of this moisturiser.

Combination of the three
I think each of these products worked well with each other and to me they also brought the best in each product. Combined continuously usage did give me a complexion that was more balanced, moisturised (not greasy) and less bumps. As mentioned above, there are other products in the range along with ones specifically targeted at blemish control. I think I would like to try the mask, exfoliator and spot treatment along with this trio.
