Today, I'm sharing an exciting Fragrance Story with you about Recreation Beauty's At Night We Dance EDP. This EDP is a finalist in @thegreenedit_au Awards 2022! I attended a Zoom session with the founder, Nedahl Stelio for the luanch of "A Night We Dance" to learn about this fragrance and more about Recreation Beauty.
Recreation Beauty described At Night We Dance EDP as:
"AT NIGHT WE DANCE is the sultry scent you have been looking for.
Inspired by balmy summer eves, sunset cocktails, whispered secrets in dark corners of the bar, warm bodies meshing together on a dance floor, solo drinks on the barstool, high heels and statement jewellery, deep tunes as the sun goes down, stolen glances, an impromptu late night swim, gleaming skin, heels in hand, flicky hair and lots of laughter."
A WARM, SPICY SCENT WITH MUSKY OVERTONES,
AT NIGHT WE DANCE IS ALLURING AND SENSUAL
It opens with tangy notes of Brazilian orange and pink peppercorn, leads playfully into a violet accord spiced with cinnamon, frankincense, lavender, clove, softly spiked with sandalwood, amber, vetiver, musk and amyris."
Further:
"We don't use any toxic chemicals in our products, no endocrine disrupting ingredients and no harmful synthetics. As many ingredients as possible are organic. All ingredients are ethically-sourced, vegan and cruelty-free.
There are no animal products in our natural fragrances, which is unique (did you know that musk used to come from the gland of a male musk deer?). And definitely no animal testing. At all.
We have banned single-use plastics (you won't find our products wrapped in unnecessary plastic and our fragrances are not held in their box with plastic moulds). Our bottles are made from recyclable glass and our lids are aluminium."

My Thoughts on At Night We Dance:
The Bottle: The bottle is made from glass with an aluminium cap and the plastic tube is made from recycled plastic. This is in line with Recreational Beauty's values which include sustainability and reduction on waste.
This creates a simple elegant bottle with a hexagon shape. This is minimalistic chic.
The Scent: Mostly woody, musky and spicy. It is quite a sexy scent and is line with it's name "At Night We Dance".
The musk is vegan and I think fragrance enthusiasts like me, will realise that it is hard to create a natural fragrance with vegan musk. The Founder, Nedahl Steliom did say that it took them a long time to source a vegan musk that was clean and non-toxic. I love that they used sugar cane derived alcohol unlike many other commercial fragrances - I can only very slightly detect the alcohol at first spritz. Pretty impressed by that attribute.
I think "At Night We Dance EDP" works well as a unisex fragrance.
The notes are:
Top: Brazilian orange and pink peppercorn
Heart: a violet accord spiced with cinnamon, frankincense, lavender, clove
Base: sandalwood, amber, vetiver, musk and amyris
The Dry Down: Very quick dry down. You can a bit of the bergamot but it does reach the heart notes of lavender, various spices, woods and musk after a few minutes of applying it.
The Tastes: Musk. It tastes like those musk candy sticks with a bit of citrus flavouring.
The Colours: Warm orange and yellow tones. Think sunset at a beachside bar vibes.
The Feelings: Definitely evokes feelings of dancing at a tropical seaside club on a warm evening,
You get romance, fun, pleasure and all kinds of euphoric pleasures.
The Wear Time: About 4-5 hours. That's very good for a 100% natural, vegan eau de parfum.
Suggested occasions to wear this: As suggested by its name!! This is a sexy woody fragrance that is perfect for night's out. For a date. For a girls/boys out night.
Overall: Whilst the musk of this fragrance was a bit heavy for my personal tastes - it is after all marketed as a musky fragrance, I would still say 9.5/10. I've given this such a high rating because of how difficult it is to make, the materials and ingredients and their commitment to sustainability. As well as the fact that this fragrance should appeal to those who love musty woody scents and how it is (in my opinion) a unisex EDP.
